In one sentenceThis page sets out the community rules of the NZEP Library: register one account to publish entries and join discussions;<br>what you publish is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0, content that breaks the rules is taken down, and malicious behaviour is restricted or banned.<br>This is a statement of site rules, not legal advice; if anything is unclear, contact us at the address at the foot of this page.

    1. What this site is

The NZEP Library is a community archive and library: entries, series, the gallery, the discussion area and the games all live on one site, maintained by administrators and volunteers, with no charge to readers and no third-party advertising. The platform, the accounts and the content are one system: the games, short videos and the library share the same sign-in state, and the name you sign a discussion post with is the same account that appears in an entry byline.

    2. Accounts

    • Browsing the library needs no account; publishing entries, commenting, uploading and voting need one, and you must be signed in.
    • One account is for your own use; it may not be rented out, lent, transferred or shared.
    • Register with an email address you can receive mail at long term, and keep your password and recovery code safe.
    • To block "a new account after a ban", sign-in and registration use a device fingerprint, and several failed sign-ins in a short time trigger a temporary limit. Both are used only against abuse and never affect anonymous reading.

    3. What you may publish

    • Original work: entries, series, comments, images and music that you wrote or made yourself.
    • Work you have the right to publish: reposting or translation for which you hold the rightsholder’s permission; when you quote someone else’s work you must state the source and the author.
    • Discussion and feedback: discussion, corrections and suggestions about entries and site features.
    • Before publishing, make sure the content is not unlawful, not infringing, not hateful, not harassing, contains no malicious code, is not spam, and does not impersonate anyone or site staff.

    4. Licensing of content

    • Unless an entry says otherwise, content on this site is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0, the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence.
    • Reposting, adaptation or any other redistribution must credit the author and the site, and be shared under the same terms.
    • You keep the copyright and the right of attribution in your own work; publishing it authorises the site to store, display, summarise and export it (TXT / print).
    • Official entries may exist in both Chinese and English, and a translation is subject to the same licence as the original.

    5. Review and takedown

    • A draft saved in the publishing page is reviewed before it goes public; until then only you and administrators can see it.
    • Administrators may take down content that breaks these rules and state the reason in the takedown note; where a copyright complaint is involved, the publisher is told.
    • If you disagree with a decision, appeal by leaving a message on the discussion page; we will review it by hand.

    6. Prohibited conduct

    ConductWhat it means
Scraping the whole siteUsing scripts or tools to harvest entries, attachments or personal details in bulk, beyond ordinary reading.
Attacks and load testingScanning for vulnerabilities, launching attacks, load-testing endpoints, circumventing quotas or interfering with the service.
Bypassing permissionsGetting past sign-in, review, bans or download quotas to reach content that is not public.
Bulk registrationOpening accounts in bulk, vote manipulation, inflating view counts, selling accounts or permissions.
ImpersonationImpersonating another person, an author, an administrator or an official account.

    7. Disclaimer

    • Entries are the responsibility of their authors and do not represent the site’s position; the site does not warrant their accuracy.
    • The site is provided "as is"; we work to maintain it, but we do not promise that it will never be interrupted or never lose data.
    • External links on the site are the responsibility of third parties, and the site is not responsible for their content.
    • You bear the consequences of breaking these rules or the law.

    8. Changes and contact

These rules are updated as the site’s features and legal requirements change, and the last revised date is shown at the top of this page; significant changes are announced in the site-wide announcement bar, and continuing to use the site means that you accept the updated rules. If you have a question, need to appeal or want to report a breach, use the contact address at the foot of this page, or leave a message on the discussion page.

This page states the community rules and is not legal advice; where it conflicts with mandatory local law, the law prevails.
